Remote Assistance

Remote assistance requires a working Internet connection, and our remote support software running on your system. The software can be downloaded from the "Remote Support" menu of the site. Remote support is not always available (you should call first, to initiate the support), but you can download the software in advance - or we can walk you through the process over the phone.

Rates listed are for Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (excluding public holidays).
Out of hours service is available at a 50% labour surcharge, unless negotiated otherwise in advance.
Additional labour is charged in 15-minutes blocks.
Blocks where less than 5 minutes have been used are not charged.
Parking surcharges apply, if free parking is not available nearby.
All prices include Goods and Services Tax.

For the purposes of billing, a customer is considered a business if they meet any of the following conditions:
  • Uses a server operating system (ie. Windows Server or Linux configured as a server)
  • Uses a centralised file store
  • Resides in commercial premises
  • Has 5 or more computers networked and requires the computers to share more than just Internet access
All other customers, including registered businesses, are charged at the residential rate. Hornsby IT reserves the right to classify any customer as a business (due to complexity of the work requested), giving fair notice (ie. before the work is performed). If you are unsure of your charge rate, please enquire before work commencement.

A 1% surcharge may apply for credit and debit card transactions, for hardware purchases
